Plastic / Rubber
Dust collection Solutions for dust generated in the Plastics and Rubber Industry.
Plastics processing has several operations. Many of the more common processes include blow moulding, calendaring, compression moulding, and cutting, grinding on plastics, heat sealing, injection moulding, plastic casting, plastic curing, plastic extrusion, plastic machining and plastic welding.
Plastic extruding involves forcing molten plastic through a shaping die under pressure. This process starts with solid pellets or powders being fed into a hopper where the plastic is heated to a liquid or molten state. The Keller Cleacom is the perfect answer to deal with plastic dust collection and dealing with the Aerosols and fumes generated.
Rubber dust collection falls under a dust explosion class ST1. It is classified as flammable and explosive. Apart from a risk to employee's health, it can also lead to explosions and fires within the production process. The fire risk is greater especially when grinding, crushing and producing regenerates and when working in dissolving rooms, when flocking rubber parts, applying primers and paints and when producing certain mixtures (such as silica mixtures) in the rubber industry.
Therefore, the rubber dust and fumes should be extracted and collected directly at the point of origin with a Keller Cleacom extraction system.
The challenge of hot sticky plastic dust and fumes collection with a normal dry filter is a major contributing factor to unscheduled downtime and lost production. Handling the sticky dust, vapours and fumes with the Keller Wet Venturi is the answer for trouble free production and maintenance reduction.
